Overview: The BEng (Hons) Engineering Technology (Top-up) helps you to develop the knowledge gathered in your L5 programme in Engineering, getting you up to the standard that employers are demanding when selecting candidates for professional engineering management roles in the region and beyond. Our Top-up programme teaches management techniques, research and project management skills, operations management and much more. As part of the course, you’ll be working on a live brief in association with a leading firm in the engineering industry, giving you first-hand experience of problem solving in a real work environment. Engineering graduates are in high demand and professional opportunities exist in many different fields such as construction, textiles, defence, renewable energy, food, aerospace, medicine, radio, TV and motor sport. There are also many kinds of engineering disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electronic and materials engineering and the type of work can vary from research and design to consulting and manufacturing.
Entry Requirements: A suitable L5 qualification in a subject specific course, such as a HND or a Foundation Degree. The IELTS Score for all entrants is 6.5

Assessment: Takes on a variety of formats such as Laboratory Reports, written assessments, presentations and examinations.
Fees: Ł5000 for the first year of study (80 credits studied), Ł2500 for the next section of the programme when completing the Engineering Project (40 credits).
Validating Partner: This programme is currently validated by the University of Hull
Contact Hours: The PT programme is six hours of contact time per week, you are also expected to complete self-directed study on a weekly basis to extend your subject knowledge.
Level 5 Subject Specific Qualification (HE Top Ups Only), IELTS Score: 6.5 Although we use UCAS points as a guide for students coming straight from school or college, for us, what you've achieved in the past isn't nearly as important as what we believe you can achieve in the future and we excel at providing the support that helps students succeed, regardless of their previous academic background
In addition: Applicants typically enter with a level 5 FD or HND. Communications skills and teamworking are key to the course. Problem Solving skills and creativity are valuable.
