This qualification will enable learners to develop the knowledge and skills needed when supporting teaching and learning in primary, secondary or special schools. Ideally you should be working in a school as some of the modules on the course include planning.
Modules include schools as organisation which examines the administration of different educational establishments as well as more practical modules such as supporting learning activities which looks at planning and assessment. Many of our students have entered the sector as senior teaching assistants or have progressed into higher education
You will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement, as you need to show competence in both knowledge and skills. The should be for 12 hours per week. You should also have a good level of Maths and English as this will impact on the role you undertake whilst in school.
