THe Details

The Level 2 Health and Social Care Study Programme is a vocational qualification, developing knowledge and skills in classroom, practical and workplace settings. A proportion of the delivery will take place in our simulated health and social care room in order to ensure that learning scenarios take place in a realistic setting.

The course will develop your knowledge of the theories behind the care practice such as human growth and development, safeguarding and protection, mental health and well-being, dementia awareness and end of life care.

In order to practise those skills learned at College, we will support you to find a work experience placement within a health and social care setting - this could be the NHS or a range of residential and care homes we have connections with.   We will also expect you to wear our fantastic industry standard uniform in college and placement.

We will also offer additional qualifications such as employability skills, Customer Service and Emergency First Aid alongside your main vocational qualification to ensure that you’re ready for the world of work.  And of course we will offer some amazing enrichment opportunities, such as a visit to the Thackery Medical Museum,  alongside your studies.

The Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care provides progression to the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and the possibility to then progress to Higher Education.   Alternatively, you may wish to enter the workforce in a wide range of roles available within the sector including as an adult residential support worker or a healthcare assistant in community, primary care or acute health environments.
