Overview

The Level 2 Business study programme is designed for learners who have an interest in pursing a career in the world of business. The course will introduce you to a number of Business Fundamentals including Marketing, Finance, Branding and Enterprise. If you are keen to work in the world of Business or start-up your own then this may be for you.

These qualifications are built upon a combination of mandatory and specialist units. The qualification is assessed through external assessments (exams) and internally assessed assignments. Learners can expect to study units such as:

•                     Enterprise in the Business World 

•                     Finance for Business

•                     Principles of Marketing

•                     Promoting a Brand

•                     Effective Business Communication

English and mathematics are essential for progression to further education and employment therefore learners on a level 2 study programme are also expected to study these subjects to achieve a Grade 4 or above.

One of the main purposes of this qualification is to help learners to progress,  ultimately, to employment. Employers require learners to have certain technical skills, knowledge and understanding, but they also require employees to demonstrate employability skills. These skills enable learners to adapt to the roles needed to survive in the global economy and enhance their effectiveness in the workplace.

Employability skills include: self-management, teamworking, business and customer awareness, problem solving, communication, basic literacy and numeracy, a positive attitude to work, and the use of IT
