Overview

This qualification is designed to prepare students who are not quite ready for Level 2 studies, providing additional study time to progress onto Level 2 Beauty Therapy.  The qualification is perfect for learners starting out in hair and beauty and want a basic understanding of the industry, this qualification is designed for learners who want to prepare for further learning or training in the hair and beauty sector.

English and maths are a crucial part of this course, to support with completion of record and consultation cards, working out ratios of products, costs of product plus developing money handling skills.

The core units you will cover are:

•                     Presenting a professional image in a salon

•                     Working with others

•                     Reception skills

•                     Health and Safety

•                     Hand and nail care

•                     Facial and skin care

•                     make-up application

•                     Nail art.

This qualification and lead to employment as a Beauty Salon Assistant or to progress to level 2 in beauty therapy, nail technology and make up artistry.
