Overview

This foundation degree will equip you with the specialist knowledge to allow you to pursue a particular health and wellbeing specialism or progress on to a Health, Exercise and Lifestyle top-up degree or relevant employment.

Combining science, health and wellbeing, our Foundation Degree deepens your knowledge and skills in a wide range of Exercise and Healthcare sectors.  Improve your understanding of anatomy and physiology, health promotion and development and explore professional practice within the sector.

Our selection of modules support your personal and professional development, alongside exploring concepts of health and its links to exercise. This is through theoretical and practical sessions, debates, observation and research. At the core of the programme will be the enhancement of student learning through physical resources to develop technical competence and skills, team working and problem-solving skills.

Although there is a written content for modules delivered during the 28 teaching weeks, students will be encouraged to develop their independent learning through guided activities in a practical setting and/or a workplace setting.
