Overview
Applicants to
the BDes (Hons) Graphic Design (Top-Up) course will have the opportunity to
investigate a broad range of design communication specialisms including (but not
limited to), brand strategy, design and communications, digital communications,
packaging design, advertising and marketing communications, spatial,
environmental and installation design, typographic communications and editorial
design; as well as individual interests that may extend into other specialisms
such as animation, film and photography. This course offers students the
opportunity to extend their understanding of graphic design through theoretical
studies, from a historical context through to sociological, economic and
psychological factors that can play a key role within the design process; and
how a target audience perceives visual communications.

Progression
Upon
completion of this BA (Des) degree, students may wish to progress to the MA
Creative Practice (Subject to validation or pursue a career in any of the
following areas: graphic designer, advertising/branding specialist, design
consultant, content creator for marketing and publishing agencies, website
designer, typography specialist and packaging
designer.
