Overview
The BA (Hons)
in Fine Art (Top-Up) programme aims to produce creative, independent, employable
artists with excellent practical skills in their chosen disciplines.
Graduates will
be supported to emerge with the ability to critically engage with the
contemporary art world as both creators and consumers. Using a mixture of
studio-based seminars and tutorials, it will also aim to nurture the individual
nature and variety of students’ contemporary art practices.
This course
will encourage participants to develop their individual artistic practises
whilst also tailoring their work to potential funding sources, employers and
exhibition opportunities. Through the use of innovative pedagogies and enhanced
learning environments, it aims to provide all students with a curriculum and
opportunities to develop their learning experiences, knowledge and
understanding, cognitive skills, professional skills and key transferable skills
appropriate to the level of the award.

Progression
Upon
completion of this BA (Hons) degree, students may wish to progress to the MA in
Creative Practice or pursue a career in any of the following areas: fine artist,
lecturer/teacher, curator, arts therapist, conservator, gallery assistant and
community arts worker.
