If you have not yet achieved your Grade 4 in the new GCSE examinations or a Grade C in the old GCSE examinations, in either English and/or maths, you will continue to study these subjects as part of your study programme to help you work towards this level, supported by our dedicated tutors.

Success Stories

Przemyslaw J Stepien | Applied Science

Przemyslaw J Stepien spent three years studying at Hull College between 2015 - 2018, gaining Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Applied Science before completing a Bachelor's degree (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Science at the University of Lincoln in 2021.

He started his career as a Research and Development Operations Assistant at Reckitt in Hull in November 2021 and is already moving up in the world of science having accepted a new role as New Product Development and Ingredients Technologist at Healan Ingredients, based in North Newbald, in May earlier this year.

Przemyslaw even returned to the college in April 2022 to speak to our Applied Science students, giving them a 90-minute presentation packed with information and advice from his experiences in education and employment.

Reflecting on his time at the college, Przemyslaw said: “I loved my time at Hull College and had so much support from my tutors, who made me who I am today. I learnt so many new skills, broadened my understanding of science and had so much fun! I can’t believe how much I progressed as a person during my time here. Everything I needed to succeed, the college provided which played a big part in my journey, going on to university to get a degree and secure employment.”
