We offer qualifications and training in all the main construction trades, including Bricklaying, Carpentry and Joinery, Painting and Decorating, Plastering and Plumbing. Alternatively, if your ambition is to work in the world of professional construction in roles such as a building surveyor, civil engineer or site manager, we’ve got you covered with our Construction and the Built Environment course options.

Our purpose-built facilities offer ‘real-life’ workshops, allowing you to develop key skills and gain tangible work experience, whilst still enjoying the advantages of studying in a college environment surrounded and supported by our highly skilled, experienced and knowledgeable tutors who have worked extensively within the industry.

We work with businesses and use our industry-standard facilities to provide the best possible learning experience and give you the knowledge and skills that employers are looking for. You will also have the chance to take part in competitions and trade shows, as well as community and charity projects in the local area. What’s more, you could even take part in regional and national competitions to show off the skills you have learned and add to your CV ahead of embarking on your chosen career.

There are more than 22,000 people employed in the sector in the Humber region, with more than 2 million working in Construction across the United Kingdom.

The annual recruitment requirement in Yorkshire & the Humber of 1.7% per year is the same as the UK average and means an extra 17,800 workers will be needed in the region from 2023 to 2027.

120,000 new apprentices will be needed in the Construction sector nationally in the coming years.

ENGLISH AND MATHS

English and maths are important life skills that will help you to succeed in your education, career and everyday life.

If you have not yet achieved your Grade 4 in the new GCSE examinations or a Grade C in the old GCSE examinations, in either English and/or maths, you will continue to study these subjects as part of your study programme to help you work towards this level, supported by our dedicated tutors.
