The Apprenticeship is open to all those aged 16 and over who can demonstrate that they have the aptitude and potential to achieve the qualifications that make up the Apprenticeship Framework .There is no minimum entry or previous experience requirements. The programme allows equal access to all applicants.
It is anticipated that most candidates will complete their Apprenticeship within twelve to eighteen months
The Programme is delivered in the candidate's workplace
Flexible, as negotiated between the Assessor and the Candidate

The Programme may be started at any time of the year
This is a work-based qualification and the contact hours are negotiated between the Assessor and the Candidate
The Apprenticeship is made up of four qualifications:
1. NVQ in Warehousing and Storage Level 2
2. CILT Introductory Certificate in Logistics and Transport Level 2
3. Key Skills in Communication - Level 1
4. Key Skills in Application of Number - Level 1
To succeed candidates need to have a genuine interest in their work and have certain skills and attributes. Have a look at the checklist below. If candidates meet the majority of the criteria below, then the Apprenticeship should pose no problems at all.

Demonstrable commitment and awareness of the demands of the Apprenticeship
Willingness to learn and apply that learning in the workplace
Ability to demonstrate that they have the potential to complete the qualifications which are part of the Apprenticeship
Willingness to work with due regard to Health and Safety of self and others
Willingness to communicate effectively with a range of people.
Further progression opportunities reflect the range of career options within a logistics environment, which could include:
Logistics Operations Management Advanced Apprenticeship - managing the day to day running of your area, ensuring the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods meet the required standards.
Traffic office Advanced Apprenticeship - taking responsibility for the organisation of a delivery, collection or distribution fleet of vehicles
Driving Goods Vehicle Advanced Apprenticeship upskilling to become a senior large goods vehicle driver
The Warehousing and Storage Apprenticeship Framework is targeted at those involved in the movement and storage of goods.
It requires a good level of occupational competence and is aimed at the operational level.
Candidates will be with the Ports and Logistics Business Unit at Hull College, who specialise in training and developing those working in the Logistics and Ports Sector, from the new entrant through to senior managers.
