Candidates should be working as a Logistics Operations Team Leader/Section Supervisor, responsible for improving team performance, health and safety, customer service and scheduling the movement of goods by road, rail, sea or air. The candidates job role and range of activities will need to meet the qualification requirements.
This depends on individual circumstances and experience, but most apprentices will complete the framework within 12 months
The programme may be started at any time of the year.
Flexible
This Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3) comprises of:
1. Competence Based Element - Level 3 Certificate in Logistics Operations. This is a combined qualification incorporating competence and knowledge, which is separately assessed.
2. Functional Skills - Communication Level 2, or Key Skills Communication Level 2
and Application of Number Level 2, or Key Skills Application of Number Level 2
Functional Skills Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Level 2, or Key Skills Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Level 2
3. Employee Rights and Responsibilities in the Logistics Industry
The aim of this Advanced Apprenticeship is to provide the warehousing Industry with staff who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to help their businesses grow and to provide a career path for Apprentices to higher level jobs and qualifications.
For Apprentices taking this apprenticeship, employed status is the preferred route. Employed Status means that in order to complete the Intermediate Apprenticeship, the candidate must be employed by an employer working in the sector.
After completion of the Advanced Apprenticeship in Logistics Operations, progression to the following Higher Apprenticeships is possible:
- Management Higher Apprenticeship
- Purchasing and Supply Management Higher Apprenticeship
Candidates may also care to look at Foundation degree in logistics, transport planning, logistics operations and

Higher Education programmes such as Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business and Management, are also an option.
