Access to Higher Education Diploma (Health Professions and Science)

Description

This course can be studied over 1 year or 2 years dependent on your requirements 1 Year Learners take 4 modules - Study Skills (Core) plus 3 modules chosen from those available to match an intended university course.
2 Year Learners take 2 modules per year and are advised to
take Study Skills in their first year.
Each of the modules studied are split into units and completion of each unit gains Open College Network Credits. To achieve the Access to Higher Education Diploma (Health Professions and Science) students must attain a minimum of 60 credits. Students are advised to discuss the requirements of the University course to which they intend to apply before the start of the Access course. In addition, students study for credits in IT and attend a weekly tutorial.

All Students must take Study Skills (Core). Subject modules are then chosen from the following list and should be matched to the student’s intended course of study at university. You will have the opportunity to discuss modular choice prior to the start of the course.

This course is validated by the Open College Network and is nationally recognised.  Access courses offer those individuals without the necessary academic background, an opportunity to study for University entry and provide an alternative to more ‘traditional’ qualifications.
