ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
Have you arrived in the UK and need support with English language?
ESOL courses are for anyone whose first language is not English and who would like to improve their language skills to assist with living, working or studying in the UK.
What will ESOL students learn?
- Communication skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, as well as grammar and vocabulary in the context of the workplace
- Study skills
- About living, working and studying in Hull and the UK
- ICT skills
- Numeracy skills
- Bespoke skills relevant to the workplace e.g. Health & Safety
- There are 5 levels available, from beginners to advanced
- Part-time and full-time options available – part-time options are for 3 or 6 hours per week
- Full-time study is only available to students aged 16-18
What can students achieve?
Students can work towards ESOL Skills for Life Cambridge University qualifications which consist of 3 separate modes: reading, writing and listening/speaking.
What will it cost?
Student fees are determined individually as students’ circumstances may differ. There is a possibility to apply for a fee remission for ESOL courses. Overall, we offer very competitive prices for high quality programmes.
